The IT sector envisions a secure, resilient, and protected global information infrastructure that can rapidly restore services if affected by an emergency or crisis, ensuring the continued and efficient function of information technologies, infrastructures and services for people, governments, and businesses worldwide. ISAlliance COO, Larry Clinton, is a twice elected member of the IT SCC Executive Board as well as many ISAlliance member companies. April 6, 2007 Tech sector expands infrastructure protection effort: The nations IT companies are entering a new phase in joint disaster planning that will encourage them to assess risk in at least eight critical functions nationwide, according to Guy Copeland, chairman of the IT Sector Coordinating Council, a group of about 40 companies involved in planning response and recovery for the sector.

The Information Technology Sector Coordinating Council was established on January 27, 2006 for the purposes of bringing together companies, associations, and other key IT sector participants on a regular basis to coordinate strategic activities and communicate broad sector member views associated with infrastructure protection, response and recover that are broadly relevant to the IT sector.
