Dr. M. Vidyasagar, EVP Tata Consultancy with Steve Christensen, Ceridian

Dr.  M. Vidyasagar (right) is an Executive Vice President of India's largest Information Technology Firm, Tata. He provides the ISAlliance with valuable insight on Outsourcing from an international perspective.

Here he is meeting with fellow ISAlliance Board member, Steve Christensen, Ceridian before the Executive Board Meeting in November of 2007. This meeting launched the Outsourcing Risk Management program.

The Outsourcing Risk Management program provides direction to respond to the increasing pressures forcing businesses to outsource information technology (IT) services and functions. Increasingly, this work, known as ITO/BPO (IT Outsourcing/Business Process Outsourcing), is going offshore. Irrespective of whether the vendor is located in the U.S. or in a developing country, the privacy, security, and cybercrime risk considerations – from both the service provider and client perspectives – are similar. There are, however, additional considerations that must be taken into account if the work is being performed offshore.

The Ourtsourcing Risk Management report comprehensively examines these considerations in the integrated framework of Policy, Technial/R&D, Business Operational and Legal/Regulatory considerations.

The corresponding ISAlliance/Carnegie Mellon University CyLab web seminars for Outsourcing Risk management are:

  1. October 9: Technical Perspective: Software Assurance in the Supply Chain
  2. October 16: Technical Perspective: Software Assurance in the Supply ChainI

  3. November 8: Operational/Managerial Perspective

  4. November 29: Policy Perspective

  5. December 6: Legal/Regulatory Perspective

Information Security is not an IT problem.
