As you can see, the ISAlliance interacts
with senior level government officials and regularly meets with the Chairs of relevant Congressional Committees
and influential White House staffers. ISAlliance Members
also have the opportunity to testify before Congress. ISAlliance Chairman Ken
Silva's, CISO, VeriSign, testimony led to the creation of a key position
within the U.S. Department of Homeland Security: the First Assistant Secretary
for Cyber Security.

ISAlliance members can also participate inCongressional Staff Briefings. Each year, the ISAlliance hosts a series of Congressional briefings given by Sponsor companies on various topics dealing with the many issues of information security.
The ISAlliance works with both DHS and the Congress to develop the use of Market Incentives with the federal government. ISAlliance has been championing this idea for several years and has started to move this forward in Congress after the release of the National Infrastructure Protection Plan [This has included participation in National Cyber Security Partnership activities. The National Cyber Security partnership (NCSP) is a loose coalition of virtually all industry associations who have an interest in cyber security issues. In September 2005, ISAlliance Chaired a working meeting held in Annapolis, Maryland with private industry representatives and Capitol Hill and federal government partners.
